This past week has been one of those week's where life just got in the way of living. Ever had one of those weeks? TIP #14 - GRAB TODAY

No matter what you do, or what you fail to do, the moments of this day will pass at a steady and unrelenting pace. Today will move right along, and there's no way you can stop it or hold on to it. What you can do, however, is make full use of it. What you can do is make something of lasting value out of the fleeting moments of this day.


Yes, you could choose to put forth the very minimum effort required to simply make it through the day. Yet all that will do is take you to tomorrow, where the only thing you'll have to show for it is the need to make it through still another day.

Instead, use this day to grow, to learn, to act and move and build and accomplish. Rather than seeking to merely make it through, choose to truly make it count for something great.

Time is already moving steadily ahead. Make the decision, right now, to move ahead with it.

Make full and joyous use of the unique moment in time where you now find yourself. You've been given the valuable gift of this day, so step forward and claim its special treasures.

46 DAYS - MY NAKED FACE

If nothing else, this company is bringing back the bold Judith I used to know! It is taking more guts than you know to show my face - naked - no concealers, no foundation -just some eye makeup and lip glass. I know, I know, "you should wear concealers and foundation!". But, the point is - look down the blog - scroll way down and look at some of the beginning shots. My skin was a real mess. I spend real money on make up to even go to the grocery store!!! Now, based on what I had and what I have now, I am ok with going out in public with this naked face. I have been using the products for 46 days and the changes in those 46 days are noticeable.  Just imagine what another 15 days will bring to this old skin! MICRO DERMABRASION WITH A LASER - EEKS!

I just now passed the TV downstairs and The Dr's show was on with a noted Dermatologist (not Dr. Rodan or Dr. Fields). They had a lady on the table on her stomach and the Dr. was holding the laser. Egads, the thought.  They were all excited. SOMETIMES WE JUST NEED A LITTLE LEVITY

Never bring outdoor plants into the house when it gets cold. Garden Grass Snakes also known as Garter Snakes (Thamnophissirtalis) can be dangerous. Yes, grass snakes, not rattlesnakes. Here's why.........


A couple in Baltimore, Maryland, had a lot of potted plants. During a recent cold spell, the wife was bringing a lot of them indoors to protect them from a possible freeze. It turned out that a little green garden grass snake was hidden in one of the plants and when it had warmed up, it slithered out and the wife saw it go under the sofa.

She let out a very loud scream! The husband (who was taking a shower) ran out into the living room naked to see what the problem was She told him there was a snake under the sofa.

He got down on the floor on his hands and knees to look for it. About that time the family dog came and cold-nosed him on the behind. He thought the snake had bitten him, so he screamed and fell over on the floor.

His wife thought he had a heart attack, so she covered him up, told him to lie still and called an ambulance. The attendants rushed in, wouldn't listen to his protests and loaded him on the stretcher and started carrying him out.

About that time the snake came out from under the sofa and the Emergency Medical Technician saw it and dropped his end of the stretcher. That's when the man broke his leg and why he is still in the hospital.

The wife still had the problem of the snake in the house, so she called on a neighbor. He volunteered to capture the snake. He armed himself with a rolled-up newspaper and began poking under the couch. Soon he decided it was gone and told the woman, who sat down on the sofa in relief. But while relaxing, her hand dangled in between the cushions, where she felt the snake wriggling around. She screamed and fainted, the snake rushed back under the sofa. The neighbor man, seeing her lying there passed out, tried to use CPR to revive her.

The neighbor's wife, who had just returned from shopping at the grocery store, saw her husband's mouth on the woman's mouth and slammed her husband in the back of the head with a bag of canned goods, knocking him out and cutting his scalp to a point where it needed stitches.

The noise woke the woman from her dead faint and she saw her neighbor lying on the floor with his wife bending over him, so she assumed that he had been bitten by the snake. She went to the kitchen and got a small bottle of whiskey, and began pouring it down the man's throat.

By now the police had arrived. They saw the unconscious man, smelled the whiskey, and assumed that a drunken fight had occurred. They were about to arrest them all, when the women tried to explain how it all happened over a little green snake.

The police called an ambulance, which took away the neighbor and his sobbing wife. The little snake again crawled out from under the sofa. One of the policemen drew his gun and fired at it.

He missed the snake and hit the leg of the end table. The table fell over and the lamp on it shattered and as the bulb broke it started a fire in the drapes. The other policeman tried to beat out the flames, and fell through the window into the yard on top of the family dog who, startled, jumped out and raced into the street, where an oncoming car swerved to avoid it and smashed into the parked police car.

Meanwhile, the burning drapes were seen by the neighbors who called the fire department. The firemen had started raising the fire truck ladder when they were halfway down the street. The rising ladder tore out the overhead wires and put out the electricity and disconnected the telephones in a ten-square city block area (but they did get the house fire out).

Time passed! Both men were discharged from the hospital, the house was repaired, the dog came home, the police acquired a new car, and all was right with their world.

A while later they were watching TV and the weatherman announced a cold snap for that night. The wife asked her husband if he thought they should bring in their plants for the night. That's when he shot her.

TIP #13 - FENG SHUI YOUR NETWORKING BUSINESS INTO SUCCESS

Feng Shui is simply BALANCE in all things so that energy can flow. I lived 3 1/2 yrs in China and only learned the tip of the iceberg about Feng Shui, but I saw the difference it makes.

Sometimes the best way to get something done is to stop working on it for a while. Focused effort is essential to success, and balance is just as important. If all your time, energy, thoughts, efforts and actions are focused in just one direction, you can soon become utterly burned out. You will get much more accomplished by balancing that intense effort with some time completely away from it.

There is a reason why night follows day in a never- ending cycle. There is a reason why one season ends and the next one begins, over and over again.

The best night's sleep comes after a day of focused effort. And the best day's effort comes after a night of deep and restful sleep.

Balance allows the energy that has been flowing out to flow back in. Balance allows the frustrations and aggravations that have been flowing in to be released and disposed.

Sadness and joy, peacefulness and excitement, effort and relaxation, discipline and playfulness all benefit from each other. Keep balance in your life, and you'll keep your life full AND your business will be successful.

SHANNON'S DE'COLLETE' - SAY WHAT?

One of our team members (and my upline and daughter) is a gutsy lady as she shares the sun damage on her de'collete'. For those not in the know - wikipedia says this is the area on a woman below the neck - visible in low cut t-shirts and dresses. Pronounced - day - kawl - tay. Ok - I could also say - her chest!

TIP #12 - 12 STRATEGIES FROM BEACH MONEY

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends and family. When I lived in Canada, I always thought it more sensible to have Thanksgiving in October. You get to share the orange colors and pumpkins with Halloween AND you have one month rest before Christmas! 

BEACH MONEY by Jordan Adler is a very good read for the network marketer. Here are his 12 strategies for success - did you notice how the 12 strategies and my Tip #12 coincided? Pretty good, ;eh?

1. Focus on DISTRIBUTION NOT SALES. Lots of people making a few sales each - Points of sale - Distribution sites - You buy a Distribution Center.

2. Focus on passive, non-linear income versus active linear income. You get what you focus on.

3. Become the most well-connected person you know (grow business card file). When someone needs a handyman, a carpenter, a car dealer - wallah - YOU have just the person.  Then, when someone needs what you have - YOU come to their mind.

4. Be sure your environment supports your cause - surround yourself with like minded people.

5. Make friends without an agenda. Make friends to just make friends.

6. Create memorable experiences for yourself and for others. Teams that play together stay together.

7. Invest in yourself and in others.  Budget some of your income for personal development. Don't miss out on the chance to grow immeasurably by being around other top leaders in your organization.

8. Dream.  Very wealthy successful people have the following in common: They dream BIG dreams and they talk about their dreams.  They have magazines on their desk and coffee table that contain some of the things they dream about.  And, they read books and listen to cd's that help to expand their dreams.

9. Act and Adjust - don't Analyze.  Understand that your success will not be logical. Most great success stories defy logic. As you grow, your journey takes you into uncharted territory. Think about it, going from working at a job to living the Beach Money life will be a brand new experience for you. The journey to success almost never unfolds the way you expect it to. Trying to analyze it just delays your success. The sooner you start taking action toward your dreams, the sooner  you will start living your Beach Money Life.

10. Focus on your people skills more than your technology skills. Leadership is the most valuable skill you can have for creating a Beach Money life. If you are looking for a large Beach Money income and you have a choice between building your team or building your website - the advice is to spend your time learning to build a team and influence people in a positive way.  Most wealthy people don't even answer their own emails! Become a master of communcations, networking, building relationships, and public speaking.

11. Oursource as much as possible.  Free up as much of your time as possible. Rather than learn to do everything, pay others to do what you can't or are not willing to learn. For instance, if you are not good at keeping your accounting records - hire someone. In the beginning, you might start by hiring a house cleaner to come twice a week. As your business grows, you can increase the frequency. This is not about being lazy or pretentious. It's about freeing up your time so you can do what you love and spend time at the beach with your family!

12. Keep your message simple and consistent. Get a few distributors - get a few customers - help your distributors get started doing the same thing. If you have a tough time explaining your message, it will slow down your growth. If an 8yr old can't do it, consider not doing it. If an 8yr old can't understand it, someone else probably can't either. It's that's simple.

TIP #11 - CONFIDENCE CONVICTION AND CONDOLENCES

We've talked about the correct posturing as a professional network marketer, but I wonder how many of you really try out what you read? It is so easy to tell someone how to approach a prospect, but it is something else entirely to really do it. The fear of rejection is huge. It starts when we are kids or teens and don't want to be turned down for a date, the dance, use of the car - the list is endless. Growing up is the pits.

I was a preacher's kid, so I know the fear of not even being asked! This fear carries over into adulthood - fear of not being with the in crowd - the list as adults is also endless.
As a professional network marketer, you must overcome this fear and use it to your advantage.

A few tips -
When someone tells you they are not interested or don't have the time - think positive - act positive. Tell them you are really happy they said No to this opportunity. They will look at you funny, and then you can tell them that everything in this world is a game of numbers and percentages. You need a certain amount of people that are not interested before you come across that one person that is your Ace - your leader in training. They have just brought you one step closer. Smile (go ahead - die a little inside), hold your head up and tell them to keep you in mind should they change their mind.  Walk away with confidence- don't convince them.

I have made so many mistakes in network marketing. One of the biggest is to keep going back in an email to someone or every time I see them say something about the company, after they have shown no interest. I have learned - don't ever do this. I have personal stories of people not emailing me anymore and avoiding me in public. I am a professional with a credible business investment. I don't have time to waste. Besides, I also broke one of Dani Johnson's cardinal rules - I told them my message before I got interested in THEM.

When someone tells you they are already in Arbonne, Shaklee, Amway, Mandura, Melaleuca (whatever the home based business) and they say they are happy with their company/product - praise their company. Tell them you wish them every success and since they are happy with the money they are making in their present company, you wouldn't want to change anything or convince them to do anything else. In the case of an Arbonne distributor, you can say with conviction what I wrote in an email recently. "I totally understand your wanting to stay with Arbonne. Arbonne is a great company. I wish you continued success with it. Keep me in your back pocket should you ever want to try a different type of skin care product. Actually our companies are somewhat connected. Arbonne's past CEO Robert Henry, left Arbonne (after zooming its growth) to join Rodan and Fields as the Strategic Business Advisor. If he can do for Rodan and Fields what he did for Arbonne, we are in for a wild ride!"

Always stay professional, walk and talk with confidence in your company, speak from the conviction that you know these products work and this business model makes money.

Wear your name badge everywhere. This past week I had two ladies come up to me because of my name badge. One was in a coffee shop. She asked if I had an office in Spring Hill. I didn't say NO - rather I said (while pointing to my badge) the doctors have their offices in California. I work as a consultant for them and send clients to our website for products that work. I then said that I was using the product (told my story about my brown spots being a work in progress) myself and love the look and feel of my skin. I gave her my card and told her to contact me about saving 10% with free shipping.

Another lady saw me at Touch a  Truck over the weekend and asked if I had a booth here or was I just wearing my badge? I said I was just wearing my badge. She quickly continued - she had used ProActiv and a friend was trying one of the new products. She was using L'Oreal right now but after 3 weeks it was doing nothing and she didn't like it.  I asked her if she was going to send back the used bottles to the company for a refund? She looked at me like I was nuts. This was my "in" - I told her our products had a 100% guarantee - gave her my card and told her she needed to give it a try. 

One of these days I am going to have the Confidence and Conviction to walk up to someone and say - You have my condolences. As a professional, there should never be a day go by that you don't talk about this fabulous company, Rodan and Fields (sorry, if you are with another company and you are reading this - just insert your company name for Rodan and Fields - if your company has all the guarantees ours does!).  Make it a game within yourself to see how many different ways you can inject into the conversation something about Rodan and Fields.  Look for places to inadvertantly leave your card or a brochure. Pay your bills with envelopes and put in a business card. Just remember to have confidence and conviction.

TIP #10 - YOUR TIMING

Whatever happened on the previous attempt doesn't matter anymore. What matters is what you do now. Though you may have failed once, or numerous times, or a thousand times, that has no bearing on what you're able to do now. In fact, each failed attempt brings you closer to success.


By discovering what does not work, you have more information to help you know what does work. The more you have invested in the goal, the more motivated you are to make it succeed.

Effort is never wasted, even when it leads to disappointing results. For it always makes you stronger, more capable and more experienced.

Now is the time to make use of all that strength and experience. Now is the time to push forward with more commitment and effectiveness than ever before.

Take great satisfaction in where you have been and in how far you have come. Now is your opportunity to make it into a real and lasting success.

A REAL RESPONSE FROM OUR NURSES

Yesterday I sent an email to the Nurses at Rodan and Fields regarding facial redness that I experience on and off during the day. WOW - how great is that!  Not only for my skin, but for my business. What a fabulous business tool to be able to send people to MY STAFF OF NURSES. TIP #9 - 9 KEYS TO SUCCESS

1. SET A SCHEDULE - No matter your situatino - set one. If you can work extra or can't work when scheduled - that's ok. Just set a schedule and try to stick to it.

2. CREATE GOALS - read them often and date them.

3. ALWAYS HAVE 5 FORMS OF ADVERTISING GOING AT THE SAME TIME.

4. COMMIT TO THE 6 TIMES RULE -  Don't start a from of advertising unless you can commit to trying it 6 times to see if it works for you.

5. CALL YOUR UPLINE ONCE A WEEK.

6. COMMIT TO BE HEAR ONE YEAR FROM TODAY

7. COMMIT TO STAY POSITIVE

8. COMMIT TO MAKE ONE PRESENTATION A DAY

9. READ WHAT THE LEADERS ARE READING.

TIP #8 - DEFINITION OF SUCCESSFUL NETWORK MARKETING

Consider the following. We humans are social beings. We come into the world as the result of others' actions. We survive here in dependence on others. Whether we like it or not, there is hardly a moment of our lives when we do not benefit from others' activities. For this reason it is hardly surprising that most of our happiness arises in the context of our relationships with others. (Thank you to John Yosco for posting this on his FaceBook this morning)

And this from a conference call with Dani Johnson: Focus on others. Use this formular when approaching people about your business -  think of the word F - O - R - M.   " F" for Family, "O" for occupation, "R" for recreation, "M" for Message. Talk to people about their family, their occupation, what they do for recreation and finally - and only then - YOUR message for them.

Once you do this, you will know their S - I -G - N - their Strengths,  Interests, Goals, Needs. Then you can help them succeed. This might take a few visits or calls with the person or it might be accomplished in one visit. The main thing to remember is we are a social people and everyone likes to be special. Put the focus on them, not yourself.

NURSES, PRESIDENT'S AND PORES

Our two maltese puppies are really active today. Growling with their new found voices, pawing at each other as they try to play, four legs not always moving in the direction intended, and nibbling at our toes with their gums - all too cute.  They are 4 weeks old and will soon be available to be adopted.

NURSES - We have a staff of nurses available 24/7 by email or phone to answer absolutely any skin issue or product related questions. How great is that?! 

PRESIDENT'S - Last night, Sept 30, was the end of one bonus program and today starts another. If you are in your first 30 days and working towards your $500.00 President's Bonuses for each 2 x 2 model - keep it up. What a fabulous company we have with extraordinary founders - Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields.

PORES - When you first start with REVERSE it will be normal for your skin to look like it is breaking out. Years of toxins are coming out. Don't worry - you won't look like aliens just landed on your face, but some people do get a few red areas - not erupting volcanoes - just little areas. Call or email the nurse if you are concerned.
